Glenarm Castle Walled Garden
Owned by the Earl and Countess of Antrim, Glenarm Castle Walled Garden is one of the finest in Northern Ireland, situated along the North Antrim Coast in the famous Glens of Antrim. Dating from the 1820s, the garden was originally created to provide the castle household with all of its fresh produce. Over the past 20 years, the garden has been lovingly restored by the Earl and Countess, with the help of garden designer Catherine Fitzgerald and the gardening team. The garden consists of six ornamental garden ‘rooms’, as well as unique architectural and sculptural features. Above the garden lies a calming green woodland where visitors can bask in panoramic views across the estate.
With its incomparable setting by the sea, visitors will be impressed by its charm and horticultural spectacle when the herbaceous borders are a riot of colour. Spend the day at Glenarm Castle Estate and enjoy the several delightful food outlets serving delicious, homemade delicacies from a hearty full Irish breakfast to a wood-fired, sourdough pizza. Indulge in some retail therapy from a number of high-quality retail outlets selling plants, giftware, food and clothing. All are managed by welcoming individuals with a genuine passion for their trade, many of whom have personally handcrafted their products.
