The house and gardens of the Ballintubbert estate lie south of Stradbally. The historic house dating back to 1780 is surrounded by 14 acres of beautifully designed gardens divided into more than 40 garden rooms.
It is all gardened organically, and has recently received certification from The Irish Organic Association becoming “Ireland’s First Organically Certified ORNAMENTAL GARDEN “.
As well as having a large organic garden, Ballintubbert is also a private hire venue, which means it is closed to the general public a lot of the time.
But – there are 3 open days still to come this summer for the general public. (No dogs allowed.)
Thursday 18th August 2022, 10am till 5pm, last entry 3.30pm. Tea shop open which serves tea/coffee and sweet treats. Music event that evening, great Irish act Mundy. Separate ticket required. Details to follow.
Sunday 18th September 2022, 12noon till 5pm, last entry 3.30pm. Tea shop open which serves tea/coffee and sweet treats.
Half price entry on these days for RHSI members on presentation of current membership card.
Ballintubbert also hosts pre-booked garden tours with afternoon tea – for which there is a charge, depending on numbers, refreshments etc.
