News from RHSI Walled garden at Russborough

Last year we decided to design, layout and plant an “Urban Garden” in an area of the walled garden which had been under used in the years we have been here. The brief was how we might plant and use a back garden space attached to a modern house.
With the help of our volunteer Elaine and lots of chat from all the other volunteers we had a plan. Autumn 2024 grass seed sown, Spring 2025 excavation began, the patio was laid and planting started.

Attached are some pictures of work in progress (we are planting this not as a show garden for Bloom or Chelsea) but as we would a real garden giving plants space to grow on.

We would love you to come visit and see what is happening here. Volunteers are at work and the garden is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10.30am. Eircode W91W284.
