2025 Training Courses
April 13 Introduction to Designing a Cottage Garden
This course is based around the cottage garden at the farm cottage.
The course will look at all the elements of cottage garden design, hard and soft landscaping and the flowers and plants which should be planted.
The course is suitable for beginners.
Courses at Leitrim Flowers are informative, enjoyable and interactive. Decades of horticultural and landscaping experience, along with our environmental awareness and knowledge of Irish wildlife, mean that the time spent at Leitrim Flowers is practical and enjoyable.
All courses are held on a Sunday – starting at 9.30am and finishing at 4pm – and cost E95, which includes tea/coffee on arrival and a home-made lunch.
Courses are held in a restored cottage where we have created a cottage garden that we use specifically for training courses. The garden has been designed and planted so that it acts as a useful tool for courses. The plants, trees and bushes are perennial, cottage-garden favourites and all can be cut and used for bunches, bouquets and floral arrangements.
Leitrim Flowers is based in Annaghnamaddoo, Kilnagross, Co. Leitrim, which is fifteen minutes from Carrick on Shannon and five minutes from the N4. We are less than an hour from Sligo and an hour and three quarters from the M50.
Carrick on Shannon is an interesting town with a great array of hotels, B&Bs, restaurants, shops and bars. Situated on the Shannon and with a lovely marina, Carrick is a great place to spend a few days. Carrick is also very well served by bus and train connections.
Further dates will be announced later in the year.
