Notes from Bellefield

As we approach national volunteer week, we thought it would be appropriate to acknowledge the great team of volunteers we have here at RHSI Bellefield.  From those who you see regularly at the open weekends, the great Wednesday and all those who work tirelessy behind the scenes to help keep Bellefield running smoothly and progressing. There’s so many people involved here, its amazing to see and great to be helping steer Bellefield into the future. We cannot thank you all enough!

The dry weather has been great here in the garden, although we are beginning to question why we have so many pots! We’ll never learn…

There are lots of plant  coming into their own in the garden with Geums, Alliums and Peonies now taking centre stage.

We continue to do lots of weeding with some planting out too. I know it’s a gamble; but the ground has retained mositure and I’d rather water the plants in place than keeping them suffering in pots!

We’ve been trailing a few new ways of dealing with the weeds here, more of which I’ll speak about in a separate bulletin! Needless to say the battle is a long one.
