So… what are you up to this weekend?

If you’re looking for something inspiring and a little bit magical, we’ve got just the thing. Why not make your way to RHSI Bellefield in Shinrone, Co. Offaly for our April Open Weekend – a celebration of spring, gardens, and great company!

The garden is absolutely singing right now – full of colour, life and promise. Paul Smyth and his trojan team of volunteers have poured their hearts into every corner, and it shows. It’s genuinely looking incredible, and even if you came for nothing else, seeing the garden in its current glory would be well worth the trip.

But of course, there’s more! We’ll have a treasure trove of garden bits and bobs for sale in the courtyard – the kind of charming pieces you didn’t know you needed until you saw them. In the Coach House, you’ll find a lovely selection of gardening books to rummage through – perfect for anyone who loves to read about gardens as much as they love to potter in them.

And here’s something special: we’re delighted to welcome a group of talented GLDA garden designers, who’ll be with us on both Saturday and Sunday. If you’ve been wondering what to do with that awkward corner of the garden, or how to bring a bit more life to your outdoor space, now’s your chance! Just book your slot on arrival and bring a few photos along – it’s informal, friendly, and packed with good ideas.

Most importantly, we’d just love to see you. Come for the garden, stay for the chats, the coffee, the fresh air, and the community. Bring a friend, pack a picnic, and spend a few relaxed hours with us surrounded by beauty and inspiration.
