RHSI Hetherington Medal

Our recent Christmas Lunch gave an opportunity to share food and chat and to thank volunteers for
all their work in so many areas of RHSI activity in 2023. When our President, Peter Harrison
announced that I was being awarded the RHSI Hetherington Medal, one which is occasionally
awarded to an RHSI member for their contribution to the society, I was completely taken aback and
rather lost for words. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate my thanks to the board of the
RHSI for this very kind gesture which I am both delighted and honoured to receive.

It’s team-work which makes our many activities possible and it is my privilege to be part of some of
those teams so I see at first hand just how much work goes on. A big thank you to each and every
one of you who are active volunteers in so many areas and have made 2023 such a wonderfully
exciting year for the society. There are far too many to name, a real indication of the strength of our
society that so many are willing to give so much time to being involved.

There’s lots more to come in 2024 but in the meantime, stay safe and well and have a very Happy
Christmas and New Year.
